Marion, a 56-year-old woman from Enschede, Netherlands, was recently the target of a sophisticated scam (RTL Nieuws, Karlijn Houterman) that used artificial intelligence to clone the voice of her son. The scam began with a distressing phone call, where the caller, sounding exactly like her son, claimed to be involved in a fatal motorcycle accident.
